During the conference we announced THE 2009 Teen Writers Conference prize winners. But here's a secret. Do you wanna know the real reason we hosted the writing contest? So that all those who entered the contest could prove to the world they are real writers.

Again, the contest was just for the teens who came to THE 2009 Teen Writers Conference. We had a variety of prizes. We will next year, too. But while it is fun to get a prize, what is even better to know is this: all those who entered the contest proved their ability to create. They worked on their writing to make it shine. They submitted their work to a professional organization. Those who entered the contest proved they can work under real deadlines.

 They have a bright future ahead of them. So do you. Come to our conference next year. Prove your writing ability by writing all year long until then.
